 yada yada hi dharmasya
glanir bhavati bharata
abhyutthanam adharmasya
tadatmanam srjamy aham

text 8 

paritranaya sadhunam
vinasaya ca duskritam
dharma-samsthapanarthaya
sambhavami yuge yuge

Translation

"Whenever and wherever there is a decline in 

(rigteousness) religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, 

and a predominant rise of wickedness ( irreligion)

 —at that time I descend Myself."

"To deliver the pious  (righteous)  and to annihilate the wicked ( miscreants), 

 as well as to reestablish the principles of religion (righteousness) 

I Myself appear, millennium after millennium."
